Between that & the culture you're producing from your first two cities (plus incidentals like ruins & friending a cultural CS), you should complete Liberty shortly after the Oracle, giving you a Great Prophet & your religion. Use your free tech from the GL on Philosophy, which lets you go straight into building the Oracle. Go through the Liberty tree from left to right. I did, however, manage to build Stonehenge AND Great Library, plus other wonders, so I think that's a good trade-off with regards to nt having the NC at the AD's. Since the only surefire way to get faith early on is through buildings, having more cities will probably be better in the early game to secure your pick at pantheons/beliefs. I finally realized one of the better advantages of another early city: a better shot at founding a religion. Plus, a free unit means hammers used on building something that might get more useful for you in the future. Their gifted units appear near your capital and will go a long way towards defending your borders. CB's will be your best friend! Will see what happens once I get to renaissance, which is not that hard, since I'm teching quite quickly now.Īlso, I noticed that if you want to bolster your early defense, ally a Militaristic CS. I had to wait to settle my mountainside, jungle-hilly city before I build my NC. Anyway, that happened since my capital had nothing by way of science, other than a potentially large population. Being Korea with Messenger of the Gods probably does that.
My only Emperor game so far, I think I botched my expansion attempt since it's almost turn 150 and I still have no NC! But I'm still tech leader.
